It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Leon Bernard Stephens, Sr. who entered into rest October 6, 2023.

Mr. Stephens, a native of Richmond County, was a graduate of Locust Valley High School, Locust Valley, New York. He was a welder for TTX Company - RSO North Augusta and a member of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Ministry and Usher Ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Gardner Stephens; two sons, Byron (Shea) Stephens and Leon Bernard (Chanda) Stephens, Jr.; a daughter, Latonya Bernette Robinson; adopted son, Bruce Heath; three brothers, Louis (Vanessa) Walker, Leroy (Grace) Walker, Sr., and Johnnie (Vonnie) Stephens; three sisters, Carolyn Stephens (James) Hilton, Annette Stephens and Sheryl Stephens; mother-in-law, Rev. Josephine Mildred McKie; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
