It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Marquis Rashad Barley who entered into rest January 24, 2022.

Marquis was a 2014 graduate of Fox Creek High School. He attended South Carolina State University and USC Aiken where he majored in Business Administration. He joined Shaws Creek Baptist Church. He was passionate about sports and music.

Survivors include include his children, Ibn Bernard-Angel and Jean St. Laurent; his parents, Debra Carter Barley and Marion Barley his siblings, Danveco (Dominique) Carter, Tellex (Jennifer) Lanham, Shanedra (Matthew) Tyler, Aqueisha Williams and Dominique (Lydia) Scott; grandmother, Ruth Belcher; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G. L. Brightharp officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
