With deepest and sincere sympathy, we announce the transition of Mrs. Mary Rearden McCain who entered into rest March 14, 2025.

Mrs. McCain, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Retired Educator and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Heroines of Jericho. She was the wife of the late Rev. W. H. McCain with whom she served alongside as the former First Lady of Bethlehem Baptist Church (Edgefield), Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church (North Augusta), Mt. Moriah Baptist Church (Plum Branch) and Springfield Missionary Baptist Church (Edgefield.)

Survivors include two sisters, Martha Rearden and Sara Rearden; one sister-in-law, Ruthella Rearden; five nieces; four nephews; three stepdaughters, Mary Garrett, Vurnell Freeman and Dorothy Cook; 31 stepgrandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. Moses Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
