It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Mary Etta McBurnett who entered into rest October 7, 2022 at MUSC Medical Center.

Mrs. McBurnett, a native of Aiken County, was a graduate of Jefferson High School and a member of Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Albert McBurnett of the home; four daughters, Janice (Vernon, Sr.) Williams of Charlotte, NC, Alberta Coates of Aiken, SC, LeKela Hatcher of Beech Island, SC, and Tommasina Hatcher of Clearwater, SC; three sisters, Clara Mae Shiver-Bell of North Augusta, SC, Beatrice "Betty" Shiver, and Julia Ann Shiver-Muse both of Jersey City, NJ; one brother, Kenneth E. "Kenny" Shiver of Beach Island, SC; a God Sister, Lori (McArthur) Quiller Brown of Graniteville, SC; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joshua Bryant officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
