It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Matthew Holmes who entered into rest May 16, 2022 at Carlyle Senior Care-Aiken.

Mr. Holmes, a native of Edgefield County, attended the public schools of Edgefield County.

Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Holmes of McCormick, SC; two sisters, Catherine Miles of Grovetown, GA and Sandra Mealing of Trenton, SC; three brothers, James Holmes of Edgefield, SC, David Mealing of Augusta, GA, and Ernest Mealing of Edgefield, SC; five grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
