With deepest and profound sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mrs. Mattie J. Brown who entered into rest August 8, 2026.
Mrs. Brown was born in Edgefield County and raised in Aiken County. She was a member of Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Brown, Sr.; one daughter, Tammie (Lee) Jefferson; one son, Larry (Valeria Denise) Brown, Jr.; one brother, Willis (Elsie) Johnson, Jr.; three grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev., Dr. Leonard O. Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
