It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Mattie Collier Callahan who entered into rest December 23, 2023.

Mrs. Callahan, a native of Edgefield County was a 1963 graduate of W. E. Parker High School. She was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Tillman Callahan; a brother, Roosevelt (Thelma) Collier; three sisters, Dorothy (Rev. Carsevelt) Lanham, Geneva Collier and Thelma Clinton; a devoted nephew, Calvin Collier, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Old Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis T. Coley officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
