Obituary

With deepest sympathy we announce the transition of Ms. Mattie L. Priester who entered into rest August 16, 2024.

Ms. Priester, a native of Edgefield County was a 1969 graduate of W. E. Parker High School. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member choir ministry.

Survivors include her companion, Elijah Broadwater; her children, James McKelvin (Jennifer) Mealing; her twins, Rondell Priester and Shandell (Fredrick) Jenkins; three brothers, Charlie Mealing, Jr., Louis Mealing and Wallace (Pauline) Mealing; three sisters, Catherine M. Hillary, Mary E. (Cleo) Robinson and Estelle Mealing; two uncles, Frank (Sally) Holmes, Jr., and Jessie Holmes; grandchildren Monterious Jenkins, Amari Jenkins, Jaden Priester, Divine Priester, Kaelin Lee, Jada Mealing and McKelvin D. Mealing; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, August 23, 2024 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of which the Rev. Derra Ramsey pastor and the Rev. Debbie McCain eulogist. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2 pm to 5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
