With deepest and heartfelt sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mrs. Mattie M. Walker who entered into rest May 22, 2026.

Mrs. Walker was born in Augusta, GA and resided in North Augusta, SC. She was a member of Solid Rock Tabernacle of Praise.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Walker; two daughters, Gernice Walker and Barbara Jean (Sammie) Porter; one son, Morice (Wanda) Walker; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 29, 2026 at Young Macedonia Baptist Church where the Rev. Ernest E. Butler is the pastor and the Rev. Jerry Freeman eulogist. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
