It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Melvin E. Turner who entered into rest May 11, 2022.

Mr. Turner was a native of Iredell County, NC and became a member of Hammond Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He retired from Georgia Contracting Company.

Survivors include a daughter, Tashonda McDonald; sons, Darren A Key, Sr. (Angela), Larry R. Turner, Sr. (Courtney), Travis Turner (Kiya), Melvin Turner, Jr., and Marvin Turner; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 12 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Hammond Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. G.L. Brightharp officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
