With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. Michael Simpkins who entered into rest January 3, 2025.

Born on January 13, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY. Michael's life was marked by his caring nature and humor, which brought joy to those around him.

After graduating from Springfield High School, Queens, NY in 1973, Michael served in the US Army as a sharp shooter and grenade professional and was honorably discharged in 1977. He was a passionate individual who enjoyed walking, spending quality time with his family, photography, and barbering, a skill he cherished deeply. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and frequently visited Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Michael was a beloved brother and uncle, survived by sisters Georgia Simpkins, Henrietta Ronchi, Katherine Simpkins, Josephine Carter, Shelia(John)Mabry, and Stephanie Ahmed , brothers Irving (Yvonne) Simpkins and Jerome (Georgia) Simpkins. He also leaves behind 13 nieces, 12 nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and a god sister, Carrie Almeida, along with his friends all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Simpkins; sister Martha E. Simpkins, brother-in-laws Rev. Herman Carter and Giovanni Ronchi; and niece and nephew, Amber Simpkins and Ricky Mabry.

Michael's life and memory will continue to be celebrated by all who knew him.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev., Dr. Leonard O. Griffin officiating.
