With deep and profound sympathy we announce the transition of Mrs. Mirie Nelson Houston who entered into rest September 24, 2024.

Mrs. Houston, a native of McCormick County, was a Member of Rosa Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Houston; a daughter, Amelia B. (Vernon) Miller; six sisters, Betty Thompkins, Beatrice Nelson Smith, Louise (Marion) Brisco, Debbie (Damiean) Bryant, Yolonda Nelson and Janie (Thomas) Broadwater; two brothers, James (Bernice) Nelson and Willie (Sandra) Nelson, III; two grandchildren, Shannon Nelson and Jacob Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Rosa Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Winston Oliphant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
