With deepest and heartfelt sympathy, G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Ms. Olia L. Gilyard who entered into rest May 28, 2026.

Ms. Gilyard, a native of McCormick County, was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorie Houston and Norma Jean (Marvin) Jennings; four sons, Christopher Gilyard, Larry (Annette) Gilyard, Tony (Marie) Gilyard and Willie James Gilyard; one sister, Geneva Gilyard; two brothers, Albert (Benita) Gilyard and Eugene Gilyard; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Bethany Baptist Church where the Rev. Russell Brisco is pastor and the Rev., Dr. Marcella Glover eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
