Obituary

With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Ms. Patricia D. Simpkins who entered into rest December 20, 2024.

"Her children arise and call her blessed." — Proverbs 31:28

The sun rose on May 19, 1953, in Aiken County, South Carolina, and blessed the world with the radiant light of Patricia Dianne Stephens Simpkins. Born to the loving embrace of Louise and James, Patricia brought warmth, wisdom, and steadfast faith into every room she entered. On December 20, 2024, her earthly journey gracefully concluded, but her legacy of love and kindness will echo through generations.

A proud graduate of Langley Bath Clearwater (LBC) High School, Patricia pursued excellence in every endeavor. She forged a remarkable career as a paralegal, where her sharp intellect, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate heart left a lasting impact. She was more than a professional—she was a mentor, an advocate, and a guiding light for many seeking direction in their careers and lives.

A devoted member of the Old Storm Branch Baptist Church, Patricia embodied faith and service. Her love for people—especially children—was boundless. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Her counsel, often peppered with humor and wisdom, served as a source of strength for countless individuals striving to reach their full potential.

Patricia's greatest joy, however, was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Victor M. (Dianne) Simpkins, Jr.; her daughters, Kedesha T. (Quinton) McClary and Kerstin T. Simpkins; and her cherished adopted children, LaTrell Blount and Makiyah Boyd. Her heart overflowed with pride and adoration for her eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched with nurturing care and boundless affection.

Her circle of love extended far beyond bloodlines, as Patricia's kindness and generosity made her a friend and confidante to many. Her home was a haven, her advice was a treasure, and her presence was a gift.

While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in knowing that Patricia's spirit soars free, her laughter echoes in the halls of heaven, and her legacy of love lives on in each of us.

May we honor her memory by extending the same compassion, encouragement, and joy that she so freely gave. Rest well, until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Interment will following in the church cemetery. There will be NO PUBLIC VIEWING.

Professional Care has been entrusted to G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
