With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mr. Qucell Evans, Jr. who entered into rest November 14, 2024.

Mr. Evans, a native of Richmond County, was a 1964 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. He retired from Castleberry's Food Company. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his devoted and loving wife, Barbara Walker Evans; two sons, Quvares (Dwana) Evans and Qulando (Shaunitta) Evans; a special mom, Justine Butler; brother-in-law, Ernest (Mattie) Walker; sisters-in-law, Patricia Demon and Helen (Rev. Curtis) Merriweather; a devoted friend, Lee Boyd; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Augusta. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park; The family will receive friends from 3 pm until 5 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
