With deepest and profound sympathy, we announce the transition of Mrs. Retha Bell Samuels Bussey who entered into rest August 26, 2025.

Mrs. Bussey, native of Aiken County, was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a Trainer at Kendall Hospital Supply. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her loving memories are: her husband, Reverend John "The Preacher Man" Bussey; three daughters, Shirlen Elaine Bussey, LaVerne Michelle (Charles) Kemp and Tissany Nicole (Roderick) McNeil; a brother, James (Mary Forster) Samuels; four sisters, DeLois Henry, Mary Alice Jones, Verian (Jake, Jr.) Anderson and Barbara Hamilton; brother-in-law, Roosevelt Walker; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Thomas, Margaret (Alex) Pope and Rubenia (Harvest) Hammond; a devoted niece, Diane (Eugene) Williams; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Christopher Armstrong officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
