G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Roosevelt Garrett, Jr., who entered into rest December 12, 2025.

Mr. Garrett, a native of Edgefield County, was a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert A. Garrett; three daughters, Katie (Edgar) Garcia; Brenda Garrett and Jadalynn Mims; stepmother, Lillian Garrett; one grandchild, Zamir Garcia; aunt/godmother, Beatrice Berry; sisters, Winifar (Richard) Mathis, Geraldine McKinley, Teresa Garrett, Cherilyn (Robert) Broadwater, Felicia Murray, Brenda Howell and Carolyn (Ricky) Livingston; two brothers, Timothy (Tawny) Holloway and Johnnie Mack; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Old Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Cordy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2;00 pm until 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
