It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Rubena Hawkins Williams who entered into rest January 9, 2024.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Aiken County was a graduate of South Aiken High School. She received as Associate degree from Aiken Technical College. She was employed by Kroger as an Assistant Administrator. She was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church where she served as an Usher.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Dr. Jesse C. Williams; a son, Christopher (Ashley) Drumming; two daughters, Evelyn Drumming and Jazzmine Johnson; two brothers, Willie Lee Hawkins, Jr., and Clinton Hawkins; three sisters, Rachel Hammond, Jeanette Hayes and Christine Barnwell; two grandchildren, Phoenix and Lealiana Drumming; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, January 15, 2024 at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence D. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1 pm - 2 pm.
