Obituary

G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Ruth S. Leaverette who entered into rest October 4, 2025.

Mrs. Leaverette, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Terric L. Bland and Norma L. (Michael S.) Camp; one daughter-in-law, Danyel Leaverette; two sisters, Alberta (Earnest) Butler and Charity (Brady) Anderson; two grandchildren, Elysia (Darrell G.) Bland Lofton and Michaela C. (Christopher) Holmes; one great-granddaughter, Malia G. Holmes; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where the Rev. David Mason, Jr. is the pastor and Rev., Dr. Sallie Cooks eulogist. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Interment will follow in Bettis Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
