With deepest sympathy we announce the transition of Mr. Sam Key who entered into rest October 1, 2024.

Mr. Key, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church and a member of Prince Hall F. & A. Mason, Lodge No. 391.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Key of the home; one son, Wendell (Paulette) Key of Pearland, TX; three daughters, Janet Key Drumming of Edgefield, SC, Saneta Bryan of North Augusta, SC and Sylvia (Curtis) Jefferson of Edgefield, SC; a brother, Otis Key, Sr.; a sister, Lillie Mae Jones; a sister-in-law, Ruth Williams; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where the Rev. Oscar W. Brown is the pastor and the Rev., Dr. Jasper Lloyd, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary (North Augusta.)
