It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Searcy James, Sr. who entered into rest October 31, 2022 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Mr. James was a native of Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Thomas of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Tynisha James of Aiken, SC and Chamika Adams of Batesburg, SC; two sons, Searcy Demario James (Victoria Jefferson) and William (Chiquila) James of Aiken, SC; two stepsons, Johnathan Thomas and Anthony Thomas both of Aiken, SC; five sisters, Anitha Heath of Aiken, SC, Gladys James of Gaston, SC, Florine (Rev. Henry) Harley of Columbia, SC, Yolanda Perry of Aiken, SC, and Sharlene Watson of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Calvin, Landy, Sr. of Gaston, SC and Dea. Jimmie (Celeste) Merritt of Ridge Spring, SC; a special sister, Dianne James of Aiken, SC; 11 grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Emma Miles and Mary Oakman both of Aiken, SC; brothers-in-law, Willie (Bernadette) Roper of Atlanta, GA and Bennie Roper of Aiken, SC; a special niece, Kia James of Aiken, SC; a special nephew, Derrick James of Aiken, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Calidonia Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
