It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Shirley Buggs Bush, 60, who entered into rest March 24, 2022.

Ms. Bush, a native of Edgefield County was a 1979 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. She attended Benedict College, Columbia, SC and Aiken Technical College where she received her Nursing Certificate. She was employed as a CNA at The Claiborne at West Lake.

Survivors include two sons, M. Brandon (Lanita) Bush and Blake D. Bush; a daughter, Brittany S. Bush; her mother, Roberta Merriweather Buggs; three brothers, George (Brenda) Buggs, Jr., Toney E. Buggs and Daniel T. Buggs; a sister, Linda A. Bush; grandchildren, Marleya Bush, Makiyah Bush, Amora Bush and Marlo Doby; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, April 4, 2022 at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Bishop Darrell K. Butler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 1-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
