G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Sidney L. Gordon, Sr. who entered into rest November 3, 2025.

Mr. Gordon was a 1966 graduate of W. E. Parker High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree from Lander College. He was a member of Pleasant Lane Baptist Church, the Northside Fire Department and the Mighty Shades of Blue Band.

Survivors include three daughters, Miesha (Min. Joseph) Kingcannon o Evans, GA, Jennifer (Tellex) Lanham of Edgefield, SC and Alyssa (Andy) Rousey of Abbeville, SC; one son, Sidney L. Gordon, Jr. of Edgefield, SC; a sister, Gwendolyn Matthews of Summerville, SC; a brother, Randy Gordon of Edgefield, SC; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
