Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Thelma Smith who entered into rest September 3, 2022.


Ms. Smith, a native of Aiken County, was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson High School and a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church.


Survivors include one son, Chad R. (Jasmine) Smith; two sisters, Eva Martin and Mary Wilson; fourbrothers, John H. Abney, Jr., Larry Abney, Kenneth Abney, and Albert Abney; two grandchildren, Chad R. Smith, Jr. and Channaria H. Smith; a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
