It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Walter E. Simpkins who entered into rest August 21, 2022.
Mr. Simpkins was a native of Edgefield County.
Survivors include one daughter, Audrey Dawson; two sons, Walter M. Simpkins and Ivan Gerard Simpkins; his companion, Sallie Burns; nine sisters, Shirley Bass, Doris (Freddie) Young, Silvia Williams, Pamela (Larry) Thomas, Joni (Horace) Polland, Diane (Roger) Moore, Renee (Antwan) Dennis, Regina Dennis, and Catherine Scurry; seven brothers, Ronnie (Jet) Simpkins, Glen (Tonya) Simpkins, Douglas (Chevet) Brown, Robert (Sharon) Brown, Carl (Wanda) Brown, Rick (Shelena) Jones, and Randy (Jasmine) Dennis; step-father, Edward Scurry; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Moores AME Church with the Rev. Michelle Simpkins officiating. Viewing will be held 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-Edgefield.
