With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Dr. Wesley W. Fennell—a man of wisdom, strength, and unwavering pride. He lived authentically, embracing each moment with purpose.

A proud alumnus of Tuskegee University's Veterinary School of Medicine, he dedicated his career to service before pursuing his lifelong passion for photography. For him, photography was more than a hobby—it was a way to celebrate life's beauty and preserve its fleeting moments.

A resident of Asheboro, NC, Wesley touched many lives with his generosity and wisdom.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Herman Wesley Wright Fennell II (Amy) and daughter, Trenee' Cherie Fennell-Martin (Courtney), as well as his beloved grandchildren, Hayden Wesley Fennell, Sarah Christine Cheek, and Devin Jermaine Cheek. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Judith Pearlene Fennell Ruffin and Dr. Marsha Hermene Fennell Harris, along with a host of extended family and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church where the Rev. Martris Mims pastor and Rev. Dr. Herman Franklin Harris, II officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
