William Grover Dent, 76, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. He was born to the late James and Mahalia Davis Dent Shoultz on August 1, 1948 in Wrightsville, Georgia. At a very young age, he moved with his family to Bath, South Carolina. Throughout his life, he was called "Grover" by family and almost everyone who knew him.

Shortly after graduating from Jefferson High School in Bath, South Carolina, Grover enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966. He served active duty in the Vietnam War until he became disabled due to injury. He received a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to the CSRA where he spent the remainder of his life.

Grover is preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Dent Williams.

He is survived by three sisters, Bernice Young, Ruthenia Shoultz and Barbara Miller; one brother, James Bernard Shoultz; two aunts, Lula Mae Ramsey and Mary Ann Schoultz; a brother-in-law, Earnest Williams, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2025 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.  There will be NO PUBLIC VIEWING.
