It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Willie R. Newsome who entered into rest June 26, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Newsome, a native of Edgefield County, was member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors include a son, Robert "Frankie" (Ernestine) Newsome; two stepdaughters, Jackie Johnson and Loretta Johnson; one sister, Doretha Poole; two brothers, Freddie Newsome and John D. (Dianna) Newsome; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G. L. Brightharp officiating. Masks and Social Distancing will be required. Interment will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
