It is with deep and profound sympathy the we announce the transition of Mrs. Willie Mae Carter, formerly of Edgefield, who entered into rest June 20, 2024.

Mrs. Carter, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Georgia Mae (Cleo) Martin of Edgefield, SC, Annie Bell Boyd, Ilene Redfield both of Augusta, GA, Leora Carter of Bastrop, TX and Aretha Carter of Hewitt, TX; two sons, Willie Albert (Wendy Carroll) Carter of Edgefield and Henry Caesar Carter, Jr.; five sisters, Sarah Lee, Mattie Holloway, Mary Catherine (Clemson) Quarles all of Edgefield, SC, Lucille Roney of Washington, DC and Annie Ruth Roney of Bronx, NY; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives.five daughters, Georgia Mae (Cleo) Martin of Edgefield, SC, Annie Bell Boyd, Ilene Redfield both of Augusta, GA, Leora Carter of Bastrop, TX and Aretha Carter of Hewitt, TX; two sons, Willie Albert (Wendy Carroll) Carter of Edgefield and Henry Caesar Carter, Jr.; five sisters, Sarah Lee, Mattie Holloway, Mary Catherine (Clemson) Quarles all of Edgefield, SC, Lucille Roney of Washington, DC and Annie Ruth Roney of Bronx, NY; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Derra Ramsey is the pastor and the Rev. Leroy Robertson eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
