It is with deep and profound sympathy the we announce that transition of Mr. Willie James Span who entered into rest on February 22, 2024.

Mr. Span was a native of Dougherty County, Georgia and a member of Old Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon's Ministry and Male Chorus.

Survivors include his wife, A. Beatrice Wooden Span; a daughter, Johnnie Mae (Kenneth) Hunter; two sons, Willie (Deloris) White and Ira (Gail) Span; god daughter, Lakeshia Mathis; four brothers, Louis (Inez) Span, Henry Span, Howard (Vera) Walden and Moses (Willie Mae) Walden; uncles, Israel Eady and Saul Eady; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm Friday, March 1, 2024 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of which the Rev. Dr. Leonard O. Griffin pastor and the Rev. C. Moses Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2 pm to 5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
