Willie Edward Walker, Sr. was born on April 12, 1949 to the late Fred L. Walker and Marie Starks Sheppeard. He entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2026 at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

Affectionately known as "Willie Edward" to his family and friends, he was educated in the Aiken County School System and carried with him a strong faith that guided his life. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a devoted member of Hazel Grove Baptist Church. His commitment to God and service to others was evident through his faithful years of service on the Deacon Board, where he served with humility and dedication until his health no longer permitted him to serve.

Willie Edward was a proud member of Laborers' Union Local 1137 (currently Local 515.) A hardworking and dedicated professional, he spent more than 30 years employed at the Savannah River Plant, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary McNeil Walker; brothers, Fred L. Walker, Jr., James Mackey and Calvin Jessie.

Willie Edward leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and devotion that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. He is loving remembered by his sons, Napoleon Gardenhire and his children, Kiera, Napoleon, Jr., Zayda and Breana Gardenhire; Willie E. Walker, Jr. and Jerome Walker. He also leaves his devoted daughter, Kimberly Jackson (Germaine) and their daughter, Amora Jackson.

His memory will be treasured by his sisters, Elizabeth Bryant (Joshua), Roxie Mims (Henry), Deloris Cook, Louise Blaylock and Janette W. Jamison; his brothers, Felix Sheppeard (Carrie), Willie L. Walker (Julia), Frederick Walker and Rev., Dr. Gollie Walker.

He is also survived by his uncles, Milledge Starks (Lillie Mae) and Badger Starks (Lorraine); his aunts, Elouise Evans and Gertrude Starks; his cherished friends, Carlton Burke and Ricky Knight.
