It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Zelmon Banks Holmes who entered into rest August 11, 2024.

Mrs. Holmes was a 1974 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. She was a Correctional Officer for the Augusta Correctional Medical Institution. She was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor's Support Ministry and Choir Ministry.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. John Willie Holmes; a daughter, Artesita C. Holmes-Hamilton; a brother, Rev. James (Joyce) Turner; two sisters, Nonie Mae Williams and Edna Kilgo; two grandchildren, Arshawna Binnon and Clifton Binnon, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev., Dr. C. A. Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
