Alvin Philpot

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Alvin Philpot who entered into rest Sunday, July 25, 2021 at AU Medical Center.

Mr. Philpot is a native of Edgefield County and a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School.  He was member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories are a sister, Olga Butler of Edgefield, SC; three brothers, Rufus E. Butler of Durham, NC, Fitzgerald (Marvina) Butler of Las Vegas, NV, and Lamont Houston of Augusta, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Rosa Spring Baptist Church.  Mask and Social Distancing will be observed.  Viewing will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-Edgefield.
