It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Calvin Butler who entered into rest October 28, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Butler was a native of Edgefield County and a 1963 graduate of W. E. Parker High School. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. He worked for Beloit Manhattan and Metso after over 40 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Darold G. Butler; four grandchildren, Jayden, Derrien, Kaleb and Madison Butler; a sister, Thelma (Otis) Key; brothers and sisters- in-law, Johnnie Young, Jr., Rev. Ronnie (Mattie) Young, Sr., Sammie Young, Ethel Butler, Inez Y. Elam, Sharon Y. Patterson and Karen Y. (Victor) Lewis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of which the Rev. G. L. Brightharp is the pastor and the Rev. Martin Ryans officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
