Clara L. (Hammonds) Hillary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Clara L. Hillary who entered into rest November 15, 2021 at University Hospital.

Mrs. Hillary was a native of Richmond County and a 1967 graduate of Hephzibah High School. She retired from the Richmond County Board of Education and was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served on the choir.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Hillary; two daughters, Leslie L. Hillary and Demita L. (Christopher) Hillary-Moody; a son, Daryl L. (Stephanie) Hillary; two sisters, Eula Mae (Henry) Hardy and Angie (Theodore) Hatchell; a brother, Otis (Evelyn) Hammonds; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 on the grounds of the Old Piney Grove Baptist Church of which the Rev. Louis T. Coley pastor and Rev. Sandra Hillary-Cooper eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mask  and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Friday at the funeral home.

THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE RESIDENCE FROM 2-6 PM daily until Friday.
