David Dunton, Jr.

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. David Dunton, Jr. who entered into rest May 30, 2021 at University Hospital.

Mr. Dunton, a native of Edgefield County was a master barber and owner of Dunton's Barber Shop. He was a United State Navy Veteran and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Diane Murphy, Deborah Jean Smith, Dealynn (Willie) Fryer and Angela D. (Nicholas) Christiansen; four sons, David Bernard Dunton, Reginald Dickerson, Damien Dickerson and Michael Dickerson; two sisters, Barbara Washington and Ella Mae Bates; a brother, Julian (Bernice) Dunton; two adopted sons, Johnny Stephens and Gregory Cobbs; eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Monday, June 7, 2021 in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens with military honors. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
