Dea. Elijah Rearden Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Deacon Elijah A. Rearden who entered into rest April 25, 2021.

Mr. Rearden, a native of Edgefield County was a deacon and member of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife, Ruthella Grimes Rearden; a son, Elijah Bernard Rearden (Jenene); a daughter, Alicia Rearden; three brothers, Jasper Rearden, Joseph Rearden and David Rearden; three sisters, Mary R. McCain, Martha Rearden and Sara B. Rearden Haynes; five grandchildren, Derrick Mixon, Alex Rearden, Dominique Mixon, Angel Rearden and Amare Rearden; one great grandchild, Blake Mixon; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 3 pm Monday, May 3, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
