Dea. James Mims Obituary
It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Deacon James W. Mims who entered into rest October 20, 2023.
Mr. Mims was a member of Mealing Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Ministry, Sanctuary Choir and Male Chorus. He was a self employed Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife Rosa L. Baskett Mims; three daughters, Tiffanie (Allen) Sanders, Jacqulyn Mims and Jamie Mims; two brothers, Joseph Mims and Roosevelt (Katie) Mims; two sisters, Ola Baskett and Fannie Mae Broadwater; a grandchild, Noah Coley; devoted nephews, Thomas Baskett, James Baskett and Elliot Baskett; a great nephew that was like a grandson, Khing Nichols; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Mealing Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Joseph Harris officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
