It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Deacon Willie Lakes, Jr. who entered into rest September 4, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Lakes, better known as "Skeeter", was a native of Aiken County. He was the son of the late Willie, Sr. and Thelma Lakes.
He married Linda Jennings later in life. He was a member of Full Gospel Praise and Deliverance Center where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Lakes; and a daughter, Angela Lakes.
Those left to cherish his memories include one sister, Dale Lakes of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Laneida Lakes, Janee Lakes, Marteisha Lakes, and Timothy Lakes; a stepdaughter, Shantee Jennings; stepsons, John Jennings and Nick Jennings; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Full Gospel Praise and Deliverance Center with Pastor William Jefferson, Sr. officiating. Masks and Social Distancing will be observed. Interment will follow at J. C. Mays Memorial Gardens (Graniteville.) Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
