It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Dr. Robert J. Williams who entered into rest December 15, 2021.
He graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1950, South Carolina State University with a degree in Biology in 1954, Michigan State University where he earned a Master's degree and earned his Ph.D. from the University of New York and received a Medical degree from Stony Brook Medical School. Stony Brook, New York.
He practiced Internal Medicine at the Bon Secure Health Center in Baltimore, MD for twenty-six years. Later, he open a private practice in Atlanta, retiring in 2011.He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc and a United States Veteran. He was baptized at Moses Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon R. Williams; a son, Paul Williams; his ex-wife, Willa Boze; two brothers, Irving Williams and James Williams, Jr.; five sisters, Rachel W. (John Wesley) Edwards, Mary W. Richardson, Emma (Tommy J.) Nichols, Jr., Leona W. Fryer and Phary Breckenridge; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 12 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Herman Bing officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
