It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Elijah "Sonny" Blocker, Jr. who entered into rest November 6, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Mr. Blocker, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Blocker; one daughter, Shannon Blocker of Augusta, GA; two sons, Shaun (Tiffany) Blocker and Kenneth (Shanechia) Blocker both of Aiken, SC; his mother, Nancy Blocker; three sisters, Annie Pearl (Benjamin) McKenzie of New Ellenton, Eliza (Oscar, Jr.) Drummings of Aiken, SC, and Miriam (Talmadge) Pope of Augusta, GA; six brothers, Andrew (Lena) Blocker, Melvin (Debra) Blocker both of North Augusta, SC, James (Stephanie) Blocker, Thomas (Cheryl) Blocker, John Blocker, and Vydale Blocker all of Aiken, SC; 13 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church (Eureka.) Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page.
