Elizabeth (Johnson) Hand

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson Hand, 85, who entered into rest March 31, 2022 at University Hospital. 

Mrs. Hand was a native of Lincolnton, Georgia and a member of Bethel AME Church where she served on the Corlear Ministry, Chancel Choir Ministry and Sunday School Ministry. She retired as an Authenticator from Patterson Stamp Company, Patterson, NJ.

Survivors include a son, Mark Stevens; two brothers, Floyd Johnson and Luther (Eleanor) Johnson; two sisters, Annie Latson and Eugenia Irvin; sister-in-law, Doris McCain; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 pm Monday, April 4, 2022 on the grounds of Bethel AME Church, Augusta with Rev. Augustus Hall officiating. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page. Interment will be in Old Storm Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm. Sunday at the funeral home.
