Eugene Ware

August 20, 1939 ~ July 3, 2021 (age 81)


It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Eugene Ware who entered into rest Saturday, July 3, 2021 at CM Tucker, Jr. Nursing Care Center in Columbia.

Mr. Eugene Ware was born August 20, 1939 to the late Henry and Rosie Drummings Ware in Edgefield County, South Carolina.   

Three of his siblings, Fannie Mae, Daniel, and George all preceded him in death.

At an early age, he became a member of the Shaws Creek Baptist Church.  Eugene will be remembered as one who loved people and never met a stranger.  He also enjoyed watching television and listening to gospel songs.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister, Cora (Rev. George) Counts, Aiken; four nephews, Attorney George (Debbie) Counts, Charleston, SC, Sgt. Aaron Counts, Aiken, Curtis (Rev. Cathy) Mitchell, Philadelphia, PA, and Geoerge Mitchell, Washington, DC; one great niece, Zoe Counts, Charleston, SC; three great-nephews, Miles Counts, Charleston, SC, Tory Counts, and Gerard (Alexandria) Counts, both of North Augusta; a host of other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Shaws Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Lloyd officiating. The wearing of masks and social distancing are encouraged.  Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
