It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. James Drummings, Jr. who entered into rest September 19, 2022 at AU Medical Center.
Mr. Drummings, a native of Edgefield County, was a 1972 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and 1976 graduate of South Carolina State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He retired from the Savannah River Site Tritium Facility. He was a member of Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as President of the Ushers' Ministry.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra O. Allen Drummings, one brother, Albert (Evorn) Drummings; a nephew/son, Christopher A. Drummings; an uncle, Pickens Drummings; his aunts, Harriet Drummings and Lena Hester; brothers-in-law, Curtis (Melvis) Allen and Patrick W. (Carmen) Allen; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (J. C.) Threatt and Leila Allen; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Lorenzo Williams is the pastor and the Rev. Calvin Robinson eulogist. Interment will follow at Bettis Academy Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
