Jasper T. Rearden

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Jasper T. Rearden who entered into rest September 4, 2021 at Charlie Norwood VAMC, DD, Augusta.

Mr. Rearden, a native of Edgefield County, attended Edgefield Academy, South Carolina State College in Orangebung, SUNY in Farmingdale, NY, and New York Theological Seminary.

He was a former member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church and a member and Deacon of Antioch Baptist Church, Hempstead, NY.  He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from JFK Airport as a PQ Inspector.

Survivors include a son, Jasper S. Rearden; a daughter, Christsantha Rearden; two brothers, Joseph Rearden and David Rearden; three sisters, Mary R. McCain, Martha O. Rearden, and Sara B. Rearden Haynes; grandson, Travis Roland, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Shariyah Roland; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. Moses Myers officiating. Masks and Social Distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
