It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Joseph W. Turner who entered into rest August 31, 2021.
Mr. Turner was a 1956 graduate of Martha Schofield High School. He was Co-Owner of Turner Brothers Logging of North Augusta. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie M. Cook Turner; a son Herbert Garrett; stepson, Walter West; two brothers, Johnnie (Pearl) Turner and Ernest Turner; two sisters, Justine R. Butler and Bettie T. Jackson; one uncle, George W. Turner; one aunt, Essie Turner; grandchildren, Cindy Garrett, Alonis West, and Darren West; great-grandchildren; Phoenix Garrett and Nuri Manzueta; six brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Entombment services, with Military Honors, will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Pineview Memorial Gardens (Mausoleum) with the Rev. Henry Curry officiating. View will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
