It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Lula Mae Wooden who entered into rest April 8, 2023.
Mrs. Wooden, a native of Aiken County, was a graduate of Martha Schofield High School and a member of Mims Grove Baptist Church. She retired from the Aiken County School District with 31 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Lyndon (Jackie) Wooden of Bath, SC and Alphonso (Nancy) Wooden, Sr. of North Augusta, SC; three sisters, Alberta (John Willie) Butler, Josephine (Daniel) Carr both of North Augusta, SC and Sarah (Willie) Butler of Graniteville, SC; five brothers, John (Fannie) Curry, Willie (Diane) Curry, George T. Curry, Roosevelt (Pearline) Curry and Freddie (Mary Alice) Curry all of North Augusta, SC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Old Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald Grimes officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
