It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Rosa Lee Oliphant who entered into rest October 1, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Oliphant was born in Edgefield, South Carolina on October 15, 1929 to the late Bessie Harling. She was devoted Christian, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother
She was the original Gary Street Matriarch.
She married the late Frank Oliphant at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. To know her was to love her. God knows she loved everybody and had a heart of Gold and the sweetest soul.
She leaves to cherish her memory, eight daughters, Blanche Johnson of New York, NY, Linda Stringfellow, Diane Oliphant (Roderick Miles), Ernestine Stevens, Leona Gilchrist, Cora (Tony) Griffin, Janice Oliphant, Cynthia (Kelvin) Thomas all of Edgefield, SC; two sons, Frank Oliphant, Jr. and Deacon Willie Robert (Alice) Oliphant; a granddaughter raised in the home, Tanya Bussey; a countless number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 8, 2021 on the grounds of Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
