Sylvester Mims, Jr.

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Sylvester Mims, Jr. who entered into rest Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Mims was a 1969 graduate of Mims High School. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Gowdy Mims; a son, Sheldon (Shallon) Mims; granddaughter, Edie Mae Mims; three sisters, Mamie Scott, Jeanette Presley and Jeanell Lark; three brothers, David (Frances) Mims, Claude Mims and Marion (Virginia) Mims; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Colie Irby officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
