Wilma Alston

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Ms. Wilma Alston who entered into rest October 26, 2023.

Ms. Alston was a native of Aiken County where she attended Grammar School. She was a graduate of Haines Normal and Industrial Institute, Augusta, GA. , Benedict College, Columbia, SC, with a Bachelor Degree in Education, Valley College of Medical and Dental Careers of North Hollywood, CA  and Luvenia's School of Cosmetology, Augusta, GA. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and Educator who taught for sixteen years in Aiken County and three years in Warren County, GA. In addition, she further studied at A&T in Greensboro, NC  and Indiana University at Bloomington, IN. She was a member of Second Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors are: son, Kirk Hankinson, niece, Millicent Peek, nephew, Roland Geter; and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Second Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will be in Second Providence Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
